Day 2

After sleeping seven hours last night, I was alarmed by how exhausted I was upon waking this morning. I drank water with apple cider vinegar and felt very nauseated. I ate some almonds and berries and felt a little better. Later I went for a 20 minute walk which was brisk but not intense. Yet I was out of breath and sweating by the end.

Breakfast: 1 cup of coffee with vanilla almond milk, small bowl oatmeal with splash of almond milk, chopped almonds, raspberries and strawberries

Napped from 10 to 2. Felt very sad and unmotivated and tired afterward.

Lunch (4:00): ancient grains crackers and red pepper hummus, coffee

Felt better after lunch. Started thinking about depression. Realized that may be it. Felt a little better about it. Took a bath and got emotionally worked up. Making notes for my shrink next week. Started studying and felt better because I was being productive.

Dinner: baked honey mustard chicken and asparagus, water.

All day I was very gassy, especially right after eating. No return of the nausea. Will try taking my supplements tomorrow before studying and see if that has any effect on my sleepiness.

Starting Things Off: Day One

This blog is for my personal use as a diary logging food intake, exercise, and how I feel as I progress down both of those paths.

I'm not in good shape. I'm worried I have hypothyroidism, although it could be a number of other things too: candida overgrowth, anemia, or just plain old depression. I've had an incredibly stressful adult life and while sometimes it seems as though some of that stress might be going away, new, fun kinds of stress pop up to take the place of the waning stress and I am suffering for it.

Here is a list of my symptoms as of TODAY:

1. Unexplained weight gain of about 25 pounds in the last two years.
2. Uncontrollable and life-fucking-up fatigue. I can't get enough sleep no matter how much sleep I get.
3. Constant mucus in throat, constant feeling like something is stuck at the base of my throat.
4. Clear addiction to sweets and breads.
5. Consistent menstrual-like abdominal cramping.
6. Itchy, dry, scaly ears that are chronically infected.
7. Itchy, scaly scalp.
8. Increased sensitivity to seasonal allergies.
9. Lack of motivation to do things I need to do or used to want to do.
10. Sensitivity to cold.
11. Hands and feet fall asleep easily.
12. Puffy eyelids.
13. Swollen feet and ankles.
14. Late or even non-existent periods.

I could go on, and I may update this lost periodically.

So I'm gonna try and get healthy. I have a doctors appointment on June 9th. Let's see what happens.

Day 1:

Started new diet at lunchtime.

Lunch: baked chicken breast with a cup of brown rice. Water.

Dinner: baked chicken breast with 2 cups spinach sautéed in olive oil. Water.

No exercise. Felt sad and frustrated. Exhausted.
